Ecocool 400 NBF

METALWORKING FLUIDS
Water-miscible Coolant

Usage / Typical Application

  • Use for general machining operations: drilling, turning, milling, boring, etc. on steels, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals.

  • Common mixing / dilution in water (though exact % is not fully specified in the public summary) — typical for this kind of fluid might be in the range of a few percent (depending on hardness of water, operation type, etc.).

  • Keep the emulsion clean — avoid excessive tramp oil, maintain pH, monitor contamination.

  • Suitable for both small individual machines and central coolant systems, as long as appropriate maintenance is done.

Benefits / Advantages

  • Extended tool life: Because of good lubrication and cooling, cutting tools tend to last longer and maintain their edge better.

  • Repeatable tolerances & surface finishes: Stable emulsion and consistent cooling help produce more consistent machining results.

  • Versatility across materials: One fluid works for steels, cast iron, aluminium, copper alloys → reduces need for switching fluids.

  • Economy of use: General-purpose fluids are often more cost-efficient because less specialty handling, fewer additives for extreme conditions.

  • Potentially better workplace conditions: If the fluid has been formulated well (low odor, stable in emulsion, manageable foaming) it helps with cleanliness, operator comfort, less skin irritation. Although I couldn’t find in public sources if ECOCOOL 400 has special “low odor” or “low skin irritation” labels, this is often part of Fuchs’ fluid lines.
