The Renolin PG range are fully synthetic industrial oils based on polyalkylene glycols (PAG).
They are designed for high-performance applications: strong thermal stability, high viscosity index, good oxidation and ageing resistance.
They are not miscible or compatible with mineral oils, PAO oils, or many other base fluids. Switching over requires careful flushing/cleaning.
Industrial gearboxes (worm, bevel, planetary gears) under high mechanical and thermal stress.
Hydraulic systems, especially where high temperature, long operating times, or harsh environments are involved.
Lubrication systems where sliding friction is significant (e.g. worm-gear bronze/steel interfaces) to reduce friction and wear.
Compatibility: Since PG oils are not compatible with mineral oils or PAOs, any contamination or residue from previous oils can degrade performance. Flushing & cleaning is essential.
Elastomer / Seal Compatibility: Some seals, hoses, paints, varnishes may not be compatible with PAG oils. It’s necessary to check materials before full changeover.
Cost / Maintenance: While PG oils perform better under stress and allow longer intervals, they often cost more and need better system maintenance
