Renolin SilverScrew is a line of air compressor fluids specially formulated for oil-injected screw compressors (also suitable for vane and piston types in some cases) that need high resistance to oxidation, thermal stress, foaming, and reliability under tough conditions.
Meets or exceeds DIN 51506: VDL (for air compressor fluids)
Corresponds to ISO 6743-3-DAJ
Has specifications required by several OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) for compressors.
Some of the known available viscosity grades include:
SilverScrew 32 — e.g. kinematic viscosity at 40 °C ~ 32 mm²/s; pour point ~ -38 °C.
SilverScrew 46 — higher viscosity grade for heavier duty.
Possibly also SilverScrew 68, though 46 and 32 are the more commonly referenced in documentation.
These fluids are particularly useful when:
Using oil-injected screw compressors which have high discharge pressures and temperatures.
Wanting extended oil change intervals (longer service life) to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
Operating in environments where temperature / heat stresses and oxidative degradation are major concerns.
Needing fluids with good cold-start / pour point behavior (especially SilverScrew 32) to enable startup in colder areas.
Prior oil used was similar (i.e. good quality mineral/hydrogenated base) so conversion doesn’t require drastic changes (but always check compatibility).
