Renolit EP greases are multipurpose, extreme-pressure (EP) greases based on lithium soap / lithium 12-hydroxy thickener.
They use high-quality mineral base oils and include additive packages for extreme pressure, anti-wear, corrosion protection, oxidation stability, and often good water resistance.
Available in multiple NLGI grades / consistencies to suit different applications (from semi-fluid to thicker greases).
Renolit EP greases are used in:
Automotive chassis, universal joints, steering linkages, etc. (grease points under load/shock)
Bearings: plain, roller, needle bearings; slow to medium speed under high load or occasional shock loading.
Industrial machinery: heavily loaded gearboxes (if grease lubrication is allowed), mining, construction, quarry, transport, etc.
Automatic lubrication systems: some lower viscosity grades (000, 00, 0) help with pumpability in automatic central grease systems.
Single grease for many applications: Because of range of consistencies, EP performance, etc., it helps reduce number of grease types needed.
Good load capability / extreme pressure protection: Useful when bearings or joints see heavy loads or intermittent shock.
Water & corrosion resistance: Helps in damp or wet environments.
Temperature flexibility: Different NLGI grades allow usage from colder conditions to fairly high operating temperatures.
EP additives (especially sulfur/phosphorus) may be aggressive to yellow metals (brass, bronze) in some cases — check compatibility.
Although water resistance is good, continuous water washout or flooding will degrade performance more quickly.
Lower viscosity / very soft grades may have limited film strength under severe loads.
Grease life depends heavily on operating conditions, contamination, temperature cycling, etc.
